Verity Senriva grew up Desdemona Senriva in a bustling city on a tropical coast far away. Raised by wealthy Bard parents favored by the regions royals, Desdemona went to an Elite school for music and performance to follow in her parent's footsteps always taught that power and wealth were a person's greatest achievements above all else and should be achieved using bard powers by any means necessary. After finishing school, Desdemona was placed in the service of one of the lesser noblemen in the city who had great ambitions and dubious methods of climbing up the societal ladder. Desdemona always felt conflicted - she felt in her heart that power and wealth weren't what drove her, but loved her parents and wanted to please them. She often walked on the beach to clear her head on nights she wasn't using her powers for evil at the direction of the nobleman. One of these new-moon nights when the sky was dark and full of stars she almost tripped over a man laying on the beach. He was badly wounded and close to death. She managed to get him to her apartment nearby where she cared for him for months while he recovered. His name was Xavier Herrera and he was a pirate captain of the ship The Merryman. While pirates, they worked for the good of the people. The Robin Hoods of the seas. His ship, while on a mission bringing medication and care to a far off island, was overtaken by a rival crew working for evil captained by a one eyed orc and he left for dead at sea to wash up later on Desdemona's beach. While caring for him, he taught her the virtues of morality and truth and how power and wealth and ambition were not the most important things in life. He was also a beautiful musician and played a hurdy gurdy he made himself. It was a beautiful wooden instrument made of linden and maple and shined and lacquered to deep finish and carved and burnt with scenes of his far travels. He became her lover and a year later, her husband. Her parents disowned her and she was cast out of the employ of the Nobleman when she refused to be a part of the nobilities schemes for power and money. She instead used her powers to help others throughout the city and became part of an underground group trying to overthrow the evil royal families and bring about change for the commoners. She went by Verity in this circle as a tribute to her goal of bringing the truth of those in power out and how they destroyed families and communities for the sake of their own advancement. Her true identity/the identity of who this Verity was remained hidden. Her lives separate. Xavier, while happy to assist, was restless to find his ship and gather his missing crew to start his work again. He heard word from a traveling merchant of a ship that matched the description of his - which was of a unique build. With Desdemona's He assembled a crew to get his ship back from this one-eyed Orc. A year after Xavier left to recapture his ship, Bernardo, his best friend and first mate who he had located after recovering from his wounds, arrived at Desdemona/Verity's door his hurdy gurdy and final note of farewell in hand. They had found his ship and attempted to recover it, however, the one-eyed Orc knew about their attack and was prepared with help and they were overpowered. Bernardo was able to get away, but not without wounds that left him unable to sail again. Angered by this, Verity cast aside her name and business as Desdemona and went full in to planning a vicious scheme that would topple the nobility of her city. The scheme was successful bringing into power a full governing body that represented the people and ruled with compassion and knowledge and wisdom. She then put her entire effort into finding the one eyed orc that killed her husband traveling the world in search of him bringing her to Yvestrom Isle.
