Privacy Policy
MyRealm is a home for tabletop characters and the people who love telling stories with them. This page explains what we collect, why, who helps us run the service, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as the site needs to work.
Who we are
MyRealm (“we,” “us”) operates the website at visitmyrealm.com. For any privacy question, or to exercise a right described below, contact us at admin@visitmyrealm.com.
What we collect
Account details. The email address and display name you register with. MyRealm is for adults 18 and older; you confirm your age at signup, but we do not collect or store a date of birth.
Content you create. Everything you add to build your presence here: characters and their stats, backstories, journals, gallery art and portraits, highlights, table and campaign details, comments, and the profile bio and links you choose to show.
Messages. Direct messages between members, and messages posted within a table, are stored so the conversation works and so we can act on a report.
Technical and usage data. Basic information needed to operate and secure the service: your login session, a “last seen” timestamp used for presence, and standard server logs (such as IP address and request details) kept for security and troubleshooting. We do not run third-party advertising or cross-site tracking.
How we use it
To create and run your account; to store and display the content you post; to deliver messages and notifications; to keep the site working and secure; to enforce our Rules & Terms and respond to reports; and to send account email such as password resets. We do not sell your personal information.
Automated image screening
To keep the community safe, images you upload are automatically screened for disallowed content before they are shown, using a third-party image moderation service (see providers below). This screening is automated; content may also be reviewed by an admin following a report.
Who helps us run MyRealm
We rely on a small set of service providers (“subprocessors”) to operate the platform. They process data on our behalf, only as needed to provide their service:
Supabase. Database, authentication, and file storage, where your account and content live.
Vercel. Application hosting and delivery of the website.
Cloudinary. Hosting and delivery of uploaded images (portraits, gallery art, table banners).
Amazon Web Services (Rekognition). Automated image moderation of uploads.
Resend. Delivery of account email, such as password-reset messages.
These providers may process data on servers located in the United States or other countries.
What we share
Anything you mark public (public characters, highlights, tables, comments, and profile details) can be seen by anyone, including logged-out visitors and when a link is shared to another site (the preview card). Beyond the providers above, we do not share your personal information with third parties, except where we reasonably believe it is required to comply with the law, respond to a legal request, or protect the safety of a person or the platform.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and content while your account is active. When you delete your account, the content tied to it is removed from the live service; some records may persist briefly in backups or where we are required to retain them (for example, to comply with a legal obligation or resolve a report). Uploaded image files may remain with our image host after the referencing record is deleted.
Your choices and rights
Access and portability. You can download a copy of your data any time from Settings → Your data.
Correction. You can edit your profile, characters, and other content directly.
Deletion. You can delete your account from Settings, which removes the content tied to it as described above.
Control who can reach you. You can block another member, and choose who is allowed to start a direct message with you, from your settings.
Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/EEA, UK, or California), you may have additional rights, such as to access, correct, delete, or object to certain processing of your personal information, and to lodge a complaint with a data-protection authority. To make a request, email admin@visitmyrealm.com. We do not sell or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you logged in and the site functioning. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Children
MyRealm is intended for people 18 and older and is not directed to children. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 18, we will remove it. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will address it.
Changes to this policy
As MyRealm grows this policy may change. When it changes meaningfully we will update the date below. Continuing to use MyRealm means you accept the current version.
